Wes White
Senior Pastor
Wes is the Senior Pastor of Smithville Baptist Church. He has served for churches in Mississippi & Florida, as well as a missionary in Belize, a missionary executive in Mississippi, & was a youth pastor for several years in the 1980s. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Evangel University, a Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University, & is in pursuit of a doctorate of Educational Ministries at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Wes & Jan,his wife, have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
Logan McCoy
Youth Pastor
Logan is the Youth Pastor of Smithville Baptist Church. He has been serving at Smithville Baptist Church since May 2019. He is from Mantachie, Ms, but now resides in Smithville. He graduated from Blue Mountain College with a degree in Christian Ministry in May 2019. He has served in many different ministry roles: Camp Counselor at Central Hills Baptist Retreat, Interim Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church Amory, Ms, Summer Missionary serving in Sydney, Australia.
Ronnie SummerfordWorship Leader
Ronnie is the Worship Leader of Smithville Baptist Church. He has been serving as worship leader for Smithville Baptist Church since 1983. He was a member of the Messenger Quartet for over 20 years. He retired from True Temper after 40 years of work.
He is married to Ladonna Summerford. They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
Jennifer Bost
Secretary
Jennifer is the secretary of Smithville Baptist Church. She began this role in the summer of 2019. She graduated from University of Mississippi with a bachelors degree in marketing. She serves as the GA leader at SBC and has been a member of SBC for over 25 years. She is married to Alex Bost. They have 2 children, Sawyer Jack and Fowler Jane.

* Because God is perfect, His Word is perfect as well.
* There is one God: perfect, infinite and eternal, holy, loving, and just. He exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-existent, co-equal, and co-eternal. The Father is not the Son nor the Son the Father or the Holy Spirit, but all three are the one true God.
* Man is born broken, thanks to the sin that has infected us since Adam and Eve. We are totally depraved and in need of God’s grace. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Jesus has made a way for us to be saved from our sin.
* The Holy Spirit enables us to trust in Jesus for salvation.
* The church is the body of believers in Jesus Christ worldwide. After Jesus’ resurrection, He gave a job to His followers. This job is called the “Great Commission.” Here’s what He said: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Weekly Devotions
Tim Hansel shares about a time he was in the country, climbing with his son, Zac. “We were climbing around in some cliffs, I heard a voice from above me yell, ‘Hey Dad! Catch me!’ I turned around to see Zac joyfully jumping off a rock straight at me. He had jumped and them yelled ‘Hey Dad!’ I became an instant circus act, catching him. We both fell to the ground. For a moment after I caught him I could hardly talk. When I found my voice again I gasped in exasperation: ‘Zac! Can you give me one good reason why you did that?’ He responded with remarkable calmness: ‘Sure…because you’re my Dad.’ His whole assurance was based in the fact that his father was trustworthy. He could live life to the hilt because I could be trusted. Isn’t this even more true for a Christian? “
In the second chapter of Mark, Jesus demonstrates a foundational truth to His disciples and all Christians as well. In the midst of doubters and accusers, Jesus proved that He is the incarnate Son of God who can be trusted for our welfare and soul care. As the paralytic is brought to Jesus, the Gospel message is presented in living color before their eyes. His proclamation resounds as he shows them that He can be trusted.
TRUST HIM-Jesus is Immanuel, the Son of God who is near
TRUST HIM- Jesus cares for the broken and the broken hearted
TRUST HIM- Jesus knows what your real need is
TRUST HIM- Jesus can heal you and meet your needs
TRUST HIM- Jesus alone can forgive sins
TRUST HIM-Jesus can heal and forgive… No matter what you have done
It was true then and remains true today. You can jump into His arms, fully confident in Jesus.
